Top therapists in Pennsylvania accepting new patients
I am a National Board Certified Counselor (NBCC) licensed in New York, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, providing therapy to adults residing in those states.
I was drawn to being a therapist through my own personal experiences and understanding the value of having a safe space to process my emotions. I truly enjoy being able to help others and consider it a privilege to support others to reach their potential.
I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, health-related stress, grief, self-esteem, stress management and significant life transitions. My goal is to help clients better understand the patterns contributing to emotional distress while strengthening their ability to respond to challenges with resilience and intention.
I have lived experience and professional specialization in maternal mental health, relationships, adult ADHD, and mood disorders such as depression and anxiety. Other common stressors and themes that clients and I work through are life transitions, parenting challenges, job and career dissatisfaction, grief, loss, and overall sense of feeling not “good enough.”
I believe that everyone deserves to have a therapist. Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you don’t have to take it alone. I work with teens (late adolescence) through adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for support and clarity, therapy can be a place to slow down, reflect, and begin creating meaningful change. In addition to individual therapy, I offer couples and family therapy to help improve communication, strengthen relationships, and work through difficult dynamics.
Welcome to Parts and Patterns Psychotherapy, PLCC. I have spent 5 years working with individuals navigating narcissistic abuse, intimate relationship conflict, complex trauma, life transitions, chronic anxiety, neurodivergence, depression, BPD, grief, bipolar disorder, addiction, vocational stress, and more. My experience has taught me that while every person’s story is unique, our need for connection and agency is universal.
I hold a Master’s in Community Agency Counseling from Hampton University. Beyond my formal education, I am deeply committed to ongoing training in neurobiology and trauma-informed care. This means I don't just look at your thoughts—I look at how your nervous system is responding to the world around you. I am also certified in DBT.
Shannon is a trauma-informed therapist with a Master of Arts in mental health counseling with a concentration in addiction and offenders counseling from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. If you've spent a long time handling everything on your own, the idea of opening up in therapy can feel uncomfortable — maybe even a little vulnerable. You might be stuck in your head, second-guessing yourself, or repeating patterns you can't quite break no matter how hard you try. You don't need to have it all figured out before you reach out. You just need a willingness to start, and I'll meet you right there.
I have 26 years of experience dealing with individuals, couples, families in therapy. We will work together to develop plans that are unique and right for you.
