I have a M.A. in Professional Counseling and a B.S. in Psychology. I've received training in EMDR and mindfulness. Over the last twelve years I’ve worked in the mental health field while in a variety of settings. Including a non-profit agency, university setting, drug & alcohol center, private practice, research lab, and psychiatric hospital. These settings showed how mental health impacts people with various backgrounds and identities.
I’m a first-generation daughter of immigrant parents, and I am passionate about helping individuals in the Hispanic/LatinX community overcome the stigma around therapy. I provide a safe, authentic, and supportive space where clients can feel understood and empowered.
I have experience working with survivors of trauma, including childhood abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, immigration trauma, and generational trauma. I also help clients navigate life transitions, grief, depression, anxiety, stress management, and relationship challenges. My goal is to help you understand how your experiences have shaped your emotional well-being and to normalize your reactions along the way.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas, I believe addressing mental health concerns affects every area of our well-being. I have practiced for 5 years, but over the last couple of years, I have added EMDR training and draw on various counseling approaches based on the individual. My clients range from their early 20s to 80 years old.
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL and I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University in Evanston IL.
I work with adults 18 and over, as well as couples. I work with clients with PTSD, complex and developmental trauma, anxiety, depression, coping skills, stress, relationship issues, sexual abuse, women’s issues, self esteem and life transitions.
I earned my Master’s in Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech University in 2018. My experience began as a Master level student working with incarcerated individuals in the county jail. I have since worked with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience working with individuals with a history of trauma, anxiety, depression, personality disorders, suicidal ideation, self-harming behaviors, addiction, and grief.
